Though Avengers: Endgame reportedly served as the last major MCU outing for Pepper Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow’s character still managed to provide one last piece of fan service before dropping out of the saga. We are, of course, referring to the Rescue suit, which the Marvel veteran wears at the climax of the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. And if you’d like one final look at the armored heroine alongside her late husband Tony Stark, this new promotional image catches the pair in an intimate moment.
One thing worth noting about the photo is that the two pictured suits are not actually being sported by Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. Instead, what we’re seeing is the art department’s Liz Georgoff in the Rescue armor next to her colleague Christopher Swift in the Iron Man outfit. In her recent Instagram post, Georgoff explained the image as follows:
“Once upon a time, Marvel asked me to wear the Pepper Potts Rescue Suit for a publicity photo shoot. It will always be such an honor to have been one of four women ever to have worn it and to have posed in it with the talented Christopher Swift, my real life Iron Man. Thank you for building these awesome suits with Legacy Effects and for this incredible experience.”
While the Rescue armor was a fan-pleasing inclusion in a movie that didn’t lack for moments to get the audience cheering, there’s a good chance that Avengers: Endgame will be the suit’s only MCU outing. Indeed, Paltrow announced her retirement from the franchise months before the movie’s release, though for what it’s worth, she certainly seemed open to doing the odd cameo.
With that in mind, we probably can’t rule out Pepper showing up somewhere in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home. After all, her friend Happy Hogan looks to feature prominently in the film, and though Tony has now passed away, his presence will certainly be felt in Peter Parker’s next solo outing. Either way, all will be revealed when the flick hits theaters on July 2nd.
