A new international teaser for Avengers: Endgame has just been released, and if you thought that last month’s trailer relied too heavily on footage from previous Marvel movies, then you probably won’t care for this latest preview, which consists almost entirely of Avengers: Infinity War clips.
More specifically, the footage is taken largely from the closing minutes of last year’s release, when Thanos’ snap starts claiming the lives of various heroes. The audio, meanwhile, includes of a mix of Infinity War and Endgame dialogue, starting with the Mad Titan recapping his mission to purge the universe of half its population. After that, Black Widow and Steve Rogers both reflect on the loss they suffered in their previous outing, before Doctor Strange delivers his famous title tease: “We’re in the endgame now.”
Stephen Strange’s line is perhaps a little ironic, seeing how Marvel Studios is still reluctant to confirm whether or not he really is in Endgame. Regardless, thanks to a spoiler dropped last year by Tom Holland, we can assume that Benedict Cumberbatch at least shot some scenes for the upcoming film.
Either way, the Sorcerer Supreme seems to have put a plan in motion that Cap, Nat and the rest of the surviving heroes will have to follow through on. Right now, very little is confirmed about how exactly the team will end up reversing the snap, though the clip released earlier this week implies that the Avengers will at least attempt to track down Thanos and steal his gauntlet.
Of course, seeing how this is a three-hour movie, it feels like a safe bet that this initial mission won’t go according to plan, at which point, the gang may have to resort to the heavily rumored time travel plot. Either way, all will soon be revealed when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
