We didn’t get to see much of the Hulk in Avengers: Infinity War. After a thrilling battle with the Mad Titan in the opening minutes, the beating of a lifetime he received resulted in the Green Goliath refusing to return when Banner needed him most. It’s still unclear how Bruce plans to convince his other half to show up again in next month’s sequel, but the Jade Giant is bound to make a big return in Avengers: Endgame. And when he does, we’ll be seeing him in some new attire.
Though we’ve already caught glimpses of it in leaked promo art and what not before now, Funko has today revealed their Pop! figures for the film and among many other things, they show off two new suits for the Hulk. One is obviously his Quantum Realm outfit, which is the same as the one that the other heroes sport, but the other is what’s drawing most of the attention here. Sporting a sleek silver pattern with a little purple – probably a nod to the hero’s classic purple pants – it’s an interesting look, even if we’re not entirely sure what it’ll be used for and when the character will don it.
Regardless, it’s nice to see that the Green Goliath will be more involved in Endgame after he didn’t get much to do in Infinity War. After all, given that this could be his final outing in the MCU, we’re hopeful that Joe and Anthony Russo will make up for his lack of screentime in the last film.
As for what role Bruce Banner and his alter ego may play in the fight against Thanos, that we don’t know, but if Endgame does indeed take the Professor Hulk route as we all suspect it will, then that seems like as good a way as any to conclude the character’s journey. Aside from Bruce’s inner turmoil, the only other loose end that the movie would need to address is his relationship with Black Widow, though given that their romantic subplot was always one of the weaker elements of the franchise, most fans probably wouldn’t care if the Russos only gave this development from Avengers: Age of Ultron a brief nod.
In any case, we’ll find out what fate awaits the Hulk – and just where he got his snazzy new costume from – in a few more weeks, as Avengers: Endgame lands in theaters on April 26th.
