Marvel super fan Agustin Alanis has his eyes on another world record affiliated with Avengers: Endgame: watching it 200 times.

The world record circulating around Avengers: Endgame has been surpassing Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time. But now, the three-hour galactic epic’s getting associated with perhaps another Guinness achievement.

And it’d be that of super fan Agustin Alanis, who’s on a quest to see the movie an unbelievable number of times. When we last reported on this topic, he’d seen Endgame 103 times. Now, according to his Twitter, he’s been plopped down in theaters for 39 more hours, and is currently sitting at 116 viewings.

The rather pathetic effort has unofficially beat the record – currently held by Anthony Mitchell, who saw Infinity War 103 times – but once he gets a grasp of that title, Alanis wants to make sure he holds onto it.

In a recent interview with CNN (though it wasn’t too long of a Q&A, as the man was walking, believe it or not, into a theater), Alanis declared his goal was to see Endgame 200 times, and described how he planned on doing it.

“I go twice on weekdays; Saturday and Sunday, four to five times, (which) is the most I can because of the movie being 3 hours and 2 minutes long,” Alanis said.

The 30-year-old man’s apparently been avoiding work for quite a while. Though the rest of us would be shaking in our boots if we’d miss that many days on the job, Alanis’s position as a supervisor for the family’s construction business allows him to keep this insane pattern up, worry free.

It seems a little strange that he hasn’t gotten the record yet, though Alanis expects to hear back from Guinness sometime this week. But it doesn’t look like this obsessive amount of rewatches was always a part of the plan.

“I had bought tickets to watch it five times on the opening weekend so I wouldn’t miss a thing,” he told CNN. “Then, I started going every single day, posting my rounds or views because I really love the film.”

We’ll see if Avengers: Endgame breaks its own record at the top of the box office – at this time, it’s less than $60 million away – but if Agustin Alanis keeps it up, he may be the one who does it.
