As things stand, Avengers 4 is an unknown quantity when it comes to the MCU.
Sure, leaked set photos and alleged casting documents have given us some indication of the sequel’s overarching story – word is it’ll feature some type of flashback to the Battle of New York, which may or may not be aided by Tony Stark’s B.A.R.F. technology.
But beyond that, Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2019 sequel is a total mystery, leading to a huge online guessing game as fans pore over potential clues in an effort to solve the riddle that is the official Avengers 4 title. It’ll not be revealed for quite some time, but viewers can at least take solace in one thing: not even the core cast of Marvel’s Herculean epic are aware of the moniker at the moment. That’s according to Elizabeth Olsen, who told Cinema Blend the following:
Someone just told us that they were going to release it after this movie. When are they releasing the name? I have no idea what it is. I’ve been calling it Avengers 4.
That hasn’t curbed online enthusiasm, of course, with some theories alleging that Avengers 4 will be released as ‘Avengers: Disassembled,’ opening the field for a drastically different slate of movies in Phase 4.
Chalk that up as innocent conjecture, mind you, as Marvel and the Russo Brothers refuse to be drawn by curious fans eager to know what 2019 has in store – all we know for sure is that the finalized title of Avengers 4 ought to strike fear in every MCU viewer across the globe. Yikes!
