These next couple of weeks are set to either be a very important or very disappointing time for Marvel fans, with the first Avengers 4 trailer widely predicted to come out before the end of this month, but with slight doubts starting to emerge from various parts of the internet. Indeed, as November moves into its final third, we’ve had no clear signs from Marvel Studios or the Russo Brothers of the teaser’s impending arrival, but however this current online uncertainty is resolved, we can at least be comfortable in knowing that the Avengers 4 Prelude comic will be released next month.
The first issue of the series comes to us from author Will Corona Pilgrim and artist Paco Diaz, and will be available from December 5th. And while we expect the comic to contain at least a little context for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel, Marvel has already provided some idea of what’s to come, teasing “The last stand of the AVENGERS, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and the heroes of Earth,” and asking “can even their combined might stop THANOS’ mad scheme, now that he’s assembled all the INFINITY STONES?”
We also have a cover for the comic, which shows Tony Stark’s clash with Thanos on Titan.
When the release date for this first issue was announced, many fans took it as one more in a long line of signs that the film’s first trailer will be coming out this month, since it would be unusual for the Prelude to come out before the teaser.
It remains to be seen if that reasoning holds up to reality, but for comic book readers, this series may go some way to providing their MCU fix before Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
