It took a record-breaking 89 days, but it’s finally here. As of Wednesday, May 17, Ant-Man and the Wasp; Quantumania is at long last available to stream for Disney Plus subscribers. While the Paul Rudd threequel was roasted upon its theatrical release earlier this year, we’ve come to learn that the reception a Marvel movie gets once it drops on D+ is when we can really understand what the fans think of it. For instance, Thor: Love and Thunder got much less popular after its own streaming debut.
So, in theory, Quantumania could have its reputation entirely turned around thanks to people being able to watch it from the comfort of their own couches. Unfortunately, early reactions are definitely not leaning that way and we’re beginning to see why Marvel held off on sharing it on streaming for so long in the first place. Instead, it’s just giving folks an excuse to reheat all their old complaints from back in February. A glance at the comments in a r/MarvelStudios subreddit thread tells you all you need to know…
The fact that the trailers led us to believe Quantumania would be a lot more dramatic and intense than it was is still hurting.
Even the more positive comments can only say that it’s not bad as such, “just very mediocre.”
Says it all, really.
Seeing it again is doing nothing to change people’s minds that it could be the worst MCU movie ever.
Some are even demanding a discount!
For those who dare venture back into the depths of the Quantum Realm, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is streaming on Disney Plus now.
