Comedy fans, rejoice! Former SNL stars Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler will be re-teaming for a second time to make an upcoming comedy from Universal titled, The Nest. Directed by Pitch Perfect helmer Jason Moore, the film will be scripted by Paula Pell and tells the story of two adult sisters (Fey and Poehler), who decide “to throw one last massive party in their parents’ house before it’s sold, and in the process they learn to mature.”
This teaming of comedic talent is certainly something to get excited about. We all know how electrifying the results are when these two female actresses get together, and seeing them reunite with Pell, who worked with them on SNL (and on Parks & Rec and 30 Rock, respectively), is something that this writer cannot wait for. Throw in a proven director like Moore, who delivered a wholly enjoyable feature-film debut with Pitch Perfect, and you have the recipe for a killer comedy.
In my eyes, Poehler and Fey should be appearing on screen together a lot more than they currently do, so hearing that they’ll be reuniting for The Nest is music to my ears. I’m a huge fan of both of their brands of comedy and I think that they’re two of the funniest people in Hollywood right now. If Universal can assemble an equally as funny supporting cast, then they’ll no doubt have another huge comedic hit on their hands with this one.
