Before Avengers: Endgame hit theaters late last month, Patrick Gorman's most famous roles came from supporting parts in Gettysburg, Teen Wolf, and Sleepy Hollow. Gorman pops up in Endgame right after Steve Rogers goes back in time to place the Infinity Stones exactly where (or more appropriately, when) they were taken.

Once the Cap doesn’t return when he’s supposed to, Bucky and Falcon start to get worried. But then they see an old man (Gorman) sitting by a lake close-by. It’s with absolutely no malice that I say Patrick Gorman wasn’t really on anybody’s radar leading up to Avengers: Endgame, which is probably the reason why he was allowed to tease his role on Instagram all the way back in January. Don’t believe us? You can check out the post below.

The selfie of the now instantly-recognizable getup was accompanied by the following caption: “Who am I? Haha! You’ll never guess and I won’t tell! Mysteries are fun!!!#actor #actorslife #followyourheart #hollywoodactor #actors”

Given the secrecy that goes into these big Marvel and Disney productions, and the fact that the future of Chris Evans and Captain America in the MCU was already being questioned, it’s sort of crazy to think that this (HUGE) potential spoiler was allowed up on the web. But even now, Gorman has less than 1000 followers on his page, so perhaps the House of Mouse didn’t see the post as a threat. In fact, they may not have even seen it at all.

But what do you think about Gorman’s place in Avengers: Endgame and what’s to come for Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Was it a good ending for the First Avenger? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below!
