Now that he’s done with Breaking Bad (pause to shed a few tears), Aaron Paul is looking to focus on the big screen. Though he’s certainly no stranger to film, the actor hasn’t had the chance to take on a major starring role just yet. However, that’s all about to change, as he’ll headline DreamWorks’ Need For Speed adaptation, which releases on March 14.
Though the Scott Waugh-directed racing flick is still a couple of weeks away from being released, Paul is already focusing on what comes next. He currently has several films in production (Exodus, Triple Nine) and is rumored to be in talks for a couple others, most interestingly Ron Howard’s ambitious adaptation of The Dark Tower.
Reports surfaced last month that said Paul had taken a couple of meetings with Howard, which led many of us to believe that he was in the running for the lead role. Speaking with the actor while he was doing some press for Need For Speed, however, we learned that not only is he far from attached to the film, but he’s not even sure if they’re going to be making it anymore (which contradicts his comments from last month).
Check out the video below to see what he had to say:
So, there you have it. It’s time to put those pesky rumors to rest now. Aaron Paul is not currently attached to The Dark Tower. Now, that’s not to say that Ron Howard won’t come back to him. In fact, we certainly hope he does. It just means that at the current time, it doesn’t look like Paul is being eyed to star in the film.
As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more. For now though, tell us, who do you want to see star in The Dark Tower? Sound off below!
