A ‘Superman: Legacy’ contender plays both sides of the divide with their openness to specific Marvel and DC roles

There's no harm on sitting on the fence until the ideal opportunity arises.

There’s no harm in keeping your options open waiting for the right superhero role to come along, but Rachel Brosnahan is hedging her bets harder than most after addressing the reports claiming she was right in the mix to be James Gunn’s Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy.

With two Golden Globes, a Primetime Emmy, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards under her belt, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star is obviously a massive talent, and at 32 years old she’s probably in the right age range, too. As of yet, she hasn’t taken the plunge into effects-heavy blockbuster territory, but during an appearance on The View, she admitted that it’s an itch she’s desperate to scratch.

“I mean, look, take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt is my first piece of advice. Look, it would be extraordinary. I grew up watching Lois Lane, this incredibly talented journalist, far from a damsel in distress, and I would jump at the chance if it arose.”

On the other hand, Brosnahan has also made it perfectly clear that she’d also jump at the chance to play Sue Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four reboot, even if she hasn’t factored into the never-ending churn of rumors as heavily as some other names.

Either way, she wants in on a spandex-clad sandbox sooner rather than later, but with Superman: Legacy and Fantastic Four not expected to announce their respective casts until the summer at the earliest, there’s always the distinct possibility she’ll end up with nothing when the dust settles.
