A DC debutant that’s almost certainly doomed singled out as the potential MVP of ‘The Flash’

If they don't jump to the Gunnverse, we riot.

The DC Extended Universe is on its way out, and while Shazam! Fury of the Gods didn’t exactly kick off this last hurrah of a year as confidently as it could have, there’s still a hearty amount of gas left in the tank nevertheless, and it looks like most of it can be owed to The Flash. With unprecedented stakes at play and Michael Keaton’s Batman re-entering the ring, this team-up blockbuster could surprise even the prickliest doubter.

If there was ever just one aspect that could translate into a surefire win for the movie as a whole, it has to be Sasha Calle‘s incoming turn as Supergirl, who single-handedly stole the show in every trailer, all without needing to say “let’s get nuts.” Indeed, the Young and the Restless star seems to be embracing in her time in that iconic red and blue suit to the highest degree, and it looks like r/DC_Cinematic are all but ready to build the Church of Calle in turn.

“Probably in the minority” has to be the most egregiously out-of-touch use of the phrase we’ve seen in a hot minute; Calle’s Supergirl has been a fan favorite ever since we got that first look at her, and the thread was quick to remind the original poster of that.

Her premature MVP status even has folks hoping that James Gunn will consider keeping her around for the incoming DC Universe, which is set to softly reboot the DCU.

In any case, we’re roughly a month out from The Flash‘s bow in theaters, so we won’t have to wait too much longer for Calle to dazzle us with whatever she has in store for her epic cape-shenanigan debut, and if it does end up being her first and final outing, we can probably at least count on it being one of the most memorable sendoffs out there.

The Flash will release to theaters on June 16.
