8 Superhero Movie Crossovers We’d Love To See At Some Point

There's never been a better time to be a comic book movie fan. It’s become a bit of a cliché to say it by now, but that doesn’t make it any less true. As 2016 has made plain, with multiple franchises producing at least two a piece this year, various studios are working towards creating expansive, all-encompassing movie universes that mirror the shared worlds of the comics. Marvel are obviously in the lead with this at the moment, but Fox’s X-Men franchise is finally realizing its potential and DC are quickly playing catch up.

The Crossover: In contrast to Marvel, DC’s movies and TV shows are categorically not set on the same world. But that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering if TV’s Barry Allen – who has traveled to many different earths in the course of The Flash – will one day stop over in the DCEU and meet Batman and Superman. If DC were interested in doing that, the story to do it in would be an adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths, a classic comic book event which involved the Flash and a threat to the Multiverse.

Likelihood – 3/10: Let’s be honest here: this one isn’t very likely. No matter how cool it would be and how integral alternate universes are in DC comics, we don’t really expect to see the likes of Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist reprise their roles on the big screen. Like Marvel, there is also the problem of scheduling difficulties. On the other hand, Geoff Johns oversees both divisions of DC Entertainment, so maybe if he really wanted it a crossover could just happen.
