8 Superhero Movie Crossovers We’d Love To See At Some Point

There's never been a better time to be a comic book movie fan. It’s become a bit of a cliché to say it by now, but that doesn’t make it any less true. As 2016 has made plain, with multiple franchises producing at least two a piece this year, various studios are working towards creating expansive, all-encompassing movie universes that mirror the shared worlds of the comics. Marvel are obviously in the lead with this at the moment, but Fox’s X-Men franchise is finally realizing its potential and DC are quickly playing catch up.

9) Fantastic Four Come To The MCU

The Crossover: Sorry Fox, but you’ve had two chances (and three movies) to tackle Marvel’s First Family correctly and you’ve dropped the ball both times.

As the studio has already got the X-Men franchise to deal with, it’s about time that they let bygones by bygones and handed the Fantastic Four back to Marvel. If they get onto it soon, the team could be introduced into the MCU sometime in Phase Four. Perhaps not even in their own movie, as crowds don’t seem to take to them on their own, but in another established hero’s film instead. Maybe Spider-Man?

Likelihood – 8/10: Even since the failure of 2015’s Fantastic 4, there have been rumours that this exact move is going to happen. Fox must surely have noticed the success of Sony’s deal with Marvel over Spider-Man, after all.

Furthermore, the studio have to make a new FF movie every seven years to renew their lease on the characters. If that’s true, this one could come to fruition in the not so distant future. Let’s keep our fingers crossed then, eh?
