Iron Man’s Drunk Fight With War Machine (Iron Man 2)
Even before Iron Man 2 was released, we were over the moon with the promise that we’d see Rhodey take up the mantle of War Machine. After all, it had been teased in the first movie, with Rhodey looking at the suit and saying, “Next time, baby.”
The moment eventually came at Tony Stark’s birthday party. After Tony consumed far too much booze, he began to mess around in the Iron Man suit and endanger his guests’ lives. It was up to Rhodey to put on the armored suit and stop the tomfoolery from reaching grave circumstances. And this led to a full-on, iron-powered brawl between the two friends and a fair amount of destruction followed, too. It certainly wasn’t a few slaps and nipple twists.
While it was cool to finally see War Machine in action, it could’ve taken place under better circumstances (and against an actual bad guy). It’s generally frowned upon to beat up drunk people (especially in public), and Rhodey seemed to have no issue with smacking his BFF around. If he were our friend, he wouldn’t be invited over for a BBQ ever again – that’s for sure.
