8 Obscure X-Men Characters We Need To See In Deadpool 2

The original X-Men trilogy and subsequent spin-offs pushed Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to the fore, often at the expense of other potentially more interesting characters, but the success of Deadpool proves that the franchise no longer needs to rely exclusively on recognisable names.

Slipstream

Dude. How totally awesome would it be ride a gnarly warp portal and bust heads on a boogie board?… Said no one ever aside from potheads in California. Oh, and Chris Claremont, the creator of Slipstream.

Silver Surfer was created in the 1960’s, so his psychedelic vibe sort of makes sense, but there’s no excuse for Slipstream, a mutant whose surfboard teleportation powers were concocted in 2001. 2001! It’s like giving Nightcrawler roller skates and throwing him into battle with Magneto.

Slipstream is easily one of the worst X-Men ever created, that’s basically science or something, but the ridiculous nature of his powers could also be hilarious in the hands of the Deadpool team. Think about it; Wade could have a field day mocking Slipstream’s penchant for awkward surfer poses.

The only issue with this approach is that Slipstream might almost be too easy a target. However, I would happily set up a Kickstarter funding group to push for Slipstream’s inclusion in Deadpool 2, just so I could watch Wade push Slipstream off his surfboard into an unimaginably horrific and hilarious death.
