8 Obscure X-Men Characters We Need To See In Deadpool 2

The original X-Men trilogy and subsequent spin-offs pushed Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to the fore, often at the expense of other potentially more interesting characters, but the success of Deadpool proves that the franchise no longer needs to rely exclusively on recognisable names.

Siryn

Deadpool has had an interesting love life in the comics, dating everyone from deceptive shape-shifters to Death herself, but one of his most consistent partners was Siryn, the daughter of the X-Men’s Banshee. Banshee’s last movie appearance was in X-Men: First Class, because the sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past revealed that he had died between the events of the two films, but now that the timeline has changed, anything is possible.

Like her father, Siryn is capable of producing a sonic scream similar to the one used by Black Canary on Arrow… except that this one actually does stuff. Siryn primarily uses her scream to incapacitate enemies, but can also use the vibrations to fly, something that the winged mutant Beak could never do. Sucks to be him.

In the comics, Siryn was able to look past Deadpool’s hideous appearance and the two began dating, even though Wade used to sit outside her window and watch her sleep. Siryn is basically a stalker’s dream, but the relationship didn’t last as Deadpool’s insanity proved too much even for her.

If Siryn appeared in Deadpool 2, she could double as both the romantic interest and Wade’s comedy foil… so just imagine Colossus with breasts and squidgy skin and you’ll be on the right track.
