8) Where Was Nick Fury?
In case you’ve been living under a rock, we’ll remind you that Captain America: Civil War sees the Avengers split down the middle over the issue of government oversight and superhero accountability. Just about everyone is involved, from old hats to newbies – even The Incredible Hulk’s General Ross makes an unexpected comeback. Thor and Hulk going AWOL is referenced (setting up their team-up in Thor: Ragnarok), but there is another big MCU player who is nowhere to be seen in Civil War: Nick Fury.
[zergpaid]Narratively, of course, Fury wasn’t around because he would surely easily sort out the conflict between the heroes, given how he’s had a lot of experience rousing them together for a single cause. Still, it would have been nice to have at least one line that explained away his absence, as it left a Samuel L Jackson-shaped hole in the movie that wasn’t filled.
