8 Actors Who Could Play Norman Osborn In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Filming on Sony/Marvel collaboration Spider-Man: Homecoming is now under way, with the movie due to swing into cinemas next July. There are not too many things that have been 100% confirmed about the film as yet, but it is expected to pit Tom Holland’s Spidey against that winged terror The Vulture. This has been met with positivity from fans, as Vulture is a villain we have yet to see on the big screen. Unlike Norman Osborn, for instance, who has featured in four out of five of the previous Spider-films.

Hanks is another actor who has a hankering to play in the superhero movie sandbox. Like, really. Here’s what Hanks said in an interview in 2013.

“They don’t ask me and I keep trying … Come on, I can do it. Let me play a bad guy, let me play the bad guy against Batman. I’ll do anything, call me. They’ve never asked. What do I have to do? God, I want to throw a shield at somebody. I want that. And I don’t want to play the guy in the suit who tells the superheroes what’s going on, I don’t want to be that guy. ‘Well, you know Batman … Captain America, Iron Man, here’s what we’ve discovered’, I don’t want to be that guy. I want to get in there, I want to play The Flash or something like that. They’ll never give me a chance.”

Playing Norman Osborn isn’t quite “the bad guy against Batman” or The Flash, but by the sounds of it Hanks would be more than happy to settle for Spider-Man instead.
