1) Harley Quinn Is Everything
The Joker should be the star of Suicide Squad, right? If not, then Batman should come a close second. But the fact that everyone’s attention is on little old Harley Quinn speaks volumes about the character. Despite not appearing on the big screen before now, the Joker’s squeeze is a firm fan favourite, winning people over ever since she was first created exclusively for the 90’s Batman animated series.
Margot Robbie proved that she had both sex appeal and acting prowess in Wolf of Wall Street, two qualities that will be key to bringing the insane ex-psychiatrist to life. Fans are already raving over Harley Quinn’s costume and from what little we’ve seen so far, Robbie looks like she’s nailed the part. Of course, it’s still early days, but Robbie’s Harley Quinn could potentially have the same impact on pop culture that Ledger had all those years ago with his now legendary interpretation of the Joker.
In terms of pushing female comic book characters to the fore of cinematic movies, Wonder Woman has been the name on everyone’s lips and her first appearance in the Batman V Superman trailer was definitely mind blowing. However, with a unique mixture of cutesy looks and psychotic rage, Harley Quinn could easily steal the spotlight out from under her in Suicide Squad.
Wonder who?
