7 Insane Marvel Movie Theories That Will Blow Your Mind

We're now twelve movies in and the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down. Anticipation for both Doctor Strange and Captain America: Civil War is building day by day and films scheduled to be released further down the line are regularly discussed on movie sites. What's most impressive about Marvel Studios though is the way that they've successfully adapted the shared universe of their source material, linking each of their films to create an ongoing saga.

Before the release of Ant-Man, many scoffed at the idea of a superhero shrinking down to the size of an ant, assuming that he would be unable to hold his own against other Marvel characters. However, the naysayers had to eat their words when Scott Lang proved himself to be a formidable adversary against the likes of Yellowjacket and even Falcon, a fully fledged Avenger.

With an important role in Captain America: Civil War and an upcoming sequel of his own, Ant-Man’s impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand in a big way. However, one Redditor suggests that Ant-Man has always been there in the wings, secretly appearing in every Marvel movie to date.

The_Last_Castoff claims that the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym, has been fighting the likes of Loki and Malekith this whole time, supporting his fellow heroes while shrunk down to ant-size. We know for a fact that Pym had been using the suit for a while before the Ant-Man movie, working for S.H.I.E.L.D. while also spying on Scott Lang, so the theory certainly isn’t outside the realms of possibility.

The issue though is why wouldn’t Pym simply reveal himself to the other heroes? You could argue that he wouldn’t be willing to work openly alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. once again after he’d initially left the organization, or perhaps he didn’t want the suit’s technology to become known and potentially fall into the wrong hands. Either way, it’s a cute theory and if Marvel decided to make it official, flashbacks to his miniature appearances in the previous movies would blow audience’s minds.
