As we’re sure you’re all aware by now, the DCEU – or whatever it should be called – will still exist after Justice League, but the filmmakers will be allowed to experiment more with standalone outings. While the Joker origin movie is gearing up to be the first in this new line of DC projects, there’s a lot of chatter that Matt Reeves’ The Batman will also be set early on in the Caped Crusader’s crime-fighting career.
Undoubtedly, this has caused a lot of confusion about the duplication of roles and the only people who know definitively what’s going to happen are Geoff Johns and friends. Still, it’s fun to speculate who could star in these new pictures and where they could go from here.
Make no mistake: we love Batfleck and want him to continue as the Dark Knight for many years, but we’re A-okay with two Batmen in the cinematic universe if there are two different timelines at play here. For the purpose of this article, though, we’re assuming that The Batman will follow a younger Bruce Wayne/Batman as rumored – heck, maybe Affleck himself could narrate the damn thing as a retrospect or something.
This got us thinking about who we’d cast in some of the more pivotal roles. Of course, this is all pure speculation and fan casting at the moment, so take it as such and nothing more. If you disagree with our choices or have some of your own, however, please do drop us a comment and let us know your thoughts.
With that said, join us as we cast who should play who in DC’s standalone films. The fun begins on the next page.
