The New Avengers
After the emotional gun-punch that was Infinity War, we’re all expecting Avengers 4 to be titled something dark and dramatic. Which makes sense as much has been said about this film being the final chapter of the first ten years of the MCU.
But instead of a title that suggests gloom and doom, what if Avengers 4 was called something that hinted at a rebirth and a continuation of the franchise? As we all know, the fourth Avengers is not really going to be the last we see of the MCU, after all. With that in mind, it’s possible that it could be titled something like The New Avengers.
In the comics, New Avengers was a reboot of the Avengers title helmed by Brian Michael Bendis which starred a new version of the team including Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Spider-Woman. Obviously, we’re not suggesting that this team is going to be replicated on the big screen, but rather that the spirit of this revamp of the Avengers could be evoked.
Even if the only heroes currently left alive are mostly the original line-up of the team, there is evidence to suggest that some of the next generation of Avengers will appear in the movie. For instance, it looks like an older actress has been cast in the role of Cassie Lang, previously seen in the Ant-Man films, which suggests that we might be seeing her become a teen superhero, as in the comics.
So, with that in mind, could Avengers 4 sow the seeds for the Young Avengers?
