5 Villains That We Want To See In Avengers: Infinity War

After an eternity of waiting, Avengers: Age of Ultron is finally about to hit heatres... so naturally, the fanboys are already looking ahead to what comes next. Those disappointed that Joss Whedon has declined to direct the two-part Avengers: Infinity War should rejoice that the movies will at least be left to the capable hands of Anthony and Joe Russo, both of whom helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier to critical acclaim.

Every classic hero has an evil mirror image, an opponent who represents the darker side of the same coin, and the Avengers are no exception. Although the lineup has changed more than Hulk’s shirt over the years, The Masters of Evil have endured as some of the Avenger’s most dangerous foes. Regular members include Radioactive Man, Moonstone and Titania, but they’ve also been joined by the likes of Doctor Octopus, the Enchantress and even Ultron in the past.

As The Masters of Evil have been traditionally led by Baron Zemo in the comics, his expanded appearance in Captain America: Civil War could lead to the team’s formation in the near future, perhaps even for Avengers: Infinity War. If the head honchos at Marvel are planning to make these future instalments as epic as they possibly can, it wouldn’t be surprising if Thanos or Zemo banded together a number of super villains in order to hold the Avengers off while they carry out their larger plans.

When Thanos eventually collects all of the Infinity Gems, it’s likely that he will possess power over death itself, which could lead to a number of past foes, including the Red Skull and Ronan the Accuser, returning to form a new, all-powerful incarnation of the Masters of Evil for the big screen. Thinking long term, there’s even a small possibility that such a move could eventually lead to a Thunderbolts adaptation, potentially even replacing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes somewhere waaaaaaaay down the line, perhaps in phase eleven or twelve…

You know it’s going to happen, whether people still want it or not.
