4) Luc Wanted A Cast That Was Passionate About The Project, And Not Just Looking For A Job
Besson stressed multiple times how important it was for him to find actors who were passionate about the project, and from the footage we were shown, it’s clear that he made the right choices. You could tell that Dane and Cara had an incredibly chemistry on set and in each scene it’s easy to see just how much fun they had making the movie together.
In fact, Miss Delevingne even blurted during the panel that she “want[s] to do it again,” and hopes that a sequel happens sooner rather than later.
5) Valerian And Laureline Both Equal Members Of The Team
During the panel, the fact that Valerian and Laureline are a team was drilled into fans’ heads and I, for one, could not be happier about that. Besson made sure to tell everyone that the pair constantly relies on one another for support. Delevingne piped up as well, saying that Laureline is in no way “a damsel in distress, [she is] equal to Valerian.”
To her, the role is a “dream come true” and she made sure to stress to the crowd that “as a team, they’re amazing, they couldn’t do what they do without each other.” Even if DeHaan did describe Valerian as a “space-bro,” we’re still excited about these two because it really does seem like they’re all about equality.
Plus, from one of the scenes we were shown, it’s easy to see that Laureline can hold her own, as we get to see Delevingne kick some major space-policeman as and walk away totally unscathed.
