With 300: Rise of an Empire set to touch down at Comic-Con 2013, we now have six new character posters for the film, which look appropriately awesome. Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro and more all get their chance in the spotlight with this collection of new promotional material, which we’ve included at the bottom of this post for your viewing pleasure.

If you’re still out of the loop as to what the film is about, check out the plot summary below:

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

We saw the first trailer for the film not too long ago and though it seemed to deliver on what the fans wanted, it really looked like just more of the same. Then again, for a film like this, that may not necessarily be a bad thing. I mean, who doesn’t want more sweaty, jacked warriors running around in slow-motion kicking the crap out of everything in sight?

With the film’s panel taking place tomorrow, you can expect to hear and potentially see a lot more about it then. For now though, check out the character posters below and let us know what you think of 300: Rise of an Empire. Do you think it will be as good as its predecessor?
