8) The DC Extended Universe Is Ripe With Potential
Even the most pessimistic person maintains a certain level of hope in the DCEU because of this particular point. Warner Bros. has one major advantage over studios like Disney, Fox, or Sony: they own the rights to ALL of the DC characters. Every villain, every hero, and every anti-hero is available for the studio to use in their cinematic universe (even Condiment King!).
This allows unlimited spinoff potential and every matter of antagonist and classic source material to utilize. The recent announcement of the Nightwing spinoff and the upcoming Gotham City Sirens serve as a tease into what’s new and exciting about this universe. These spinoffs can help add a sense of new life into the comic book genre and introduce audiences to greatly under-utilized characters.
Think back to ten years ago. Would you have thought that a legitimate, high-budget Justice League movie would be released and done properly? It may have taken far too long, but with the DCEU, the potential for greatness has never been more real with characters like Harley Quinn, Cyborg, and many more making their cinematic debut. Besides, when each of the Justice League members stand together, you can’t deny that it’ll be at least a LITTLE gratifying after all these years.
