10 Things We Love About The DC Extended Universe

Warner Brothers likely wasn't expecting their much-anticipated DC Extended Universe to be as controversial and divisive as it's proven to be. Starting with 2013's Man of Steel all the way up to last August's Suicide Squad, audience reactions have ranged from those who would stab these movies if they were a person to those would fight anyone to the death to defend Batman V Superman. Never before have audience members been so at odds with how they feel about a film universe, but is either side actually right?

2) Visuals And Impressive Action

Zack Snyder receives a lot of flak from critics, but his ability to create good-looking films has never been questioned. Both MoS and BvS had plenty of screenshot-worthy visuals, utilizing both color contrasts and impressive CGI to pop out visually. Scenes like the Knightmare sequence and the Superman vs. Zod fight pop out thanks to Snyder’s unique visual style and impressive mix of practical and digital effects. SS director David Ayer also included some great visuals in his movie too, particularly the Harley/Joker vat scene.

Alongside these eye-pleasing scenes are the exceptional action sequences. MoS‘s Smallville fight and Batman’s warehouse fight in BvS are just a couple impressive examples of particularly memorable moments. These action sequences play perfectly to Snyder’s strengths and are a consistently praise-worthy component of each DCEU film. They’re hard-hitting, they showcase each hero’s strength perfectly, and provide plenty of intensity throughout.

If Justice League showcases even more action like this, then fans should have plenty to enjoy come November 17th.
