The Joker is frequently followed around by a band of anonymous thugs in Suicide Squad – many of whom like to cosplay as pandas, goats or Batman. If you were really paying attention, though, you would have noticed that one has a patch on his sleeve which reveals his name. It’s Mr. Frost, which is a reference to 2008 graphic novel Joker, which is told from the point of view of the villain’s right-hand man Jonny Frost.

Another comics character is hidden away in a scene with the Joker in the form of Monster T, as played by Common in a brief scene at the Joker’s strip club. Though he’s got a different name, comic fans will recognize him as a version of supervillain the Tattooed Man. For one, he’s sports a similar snake-themed tattoo on his face.
