This whole trailer has a really foreboding and brooding tone to it. In between the fan-pleasing reveals and the moments of action though, a lot of it is devoted to showing the growing rift between Iron Man and Captain America.
It is disconcerting to see the two heroes veering away the personas we know so well. Both seem very world-weary but equally driven by what they believe is right, to extent that they would come to blows. “The world was wrong about you,” Tony says to Cap at one point. Ouch!
This all comes to a head when Cap faintly pleads for peace but the two start duking it out anyway. This. Means. War…
