IGN sat down with Seth Killian to get the scoop on the next downloadable content for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which will add Dead Space‘s Isaac Clarke and the God of War version of Zeus (as opposed to the ancient Greek religion version) to the game’s ever-expanding roster of fighters.
As is typical of all the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale fighters, both Isaac and Zeus will have their own unique moves and style based on their respective franchises. Isaac Clark is said to be a “strong mid-range” fighter that is similar to Jak and Nathan Drake in terms of play-style. While Isaac does have some up close melee moves (like his stomp) he is at his best when attacking other fighters at range with his standard Dead Space projectile weapons… sorry, “engineering tools”.
Zeus is more of a powerhouse heavy-hitter fighter and acts as a complement to the Big Daddy, something that is missing in the current roster. As such, most of his moves involve punches, kicks, and throws, but he can also use lighting bolts for a medium range projectile attack. Unique to Zeus is that he can also charge every single move that he has, which actually gives him one of the largest move-set lists in the game.
Aside from the two new characters, the add-on will also give players a new stage that is a cross between MediEvil and The Unfinished Swan. Not all the aspects of this stage have been revealed, however, the 27 minute video presentation embedded below shows off how these two themes work together.
Isaac Clarke (Dead Space), Zeus (God of War) and the MediEvil/The Unfinished Swan stage will be released on the PlayStation Network on March 19th for both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Pricing for the downloadable content has not been announced.
