Monolith Soft and Nintendo announced the studio’s newest JRPG, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, at today’s Nintendo Direct, and it’s coming this year.
The reveal trailer teases the intertwining narratives of the previous two game in a new world with familiar faces.
Set in a “new” world called Ionius, fans were treated to stunning open-world vistas featuring the remnants of the Mechonis and titans (Is that Indol?). Familiar voice actors can be heard in the game’s new trailer, below.
The game will be the third in the trilogy of ARPGs developed by Monolith Soft, the studio behind Xenogears and Xenosaga. As Nintendo’s flagship exclusive JRPG series, the series saw a massive bump in attention following the remaster of the first game, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, in 2020.
We won’t have to wait long to see what happens when two games collide. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches on Nintendo Switch this September.
