Critical praise for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is beginning to be reflected in the threequel’s sales figures, now that CD Projekt Red’s gargantuan RPG has secured the biggest UK launch for 2015 hitherto.
Outpacing the likes of Dying Light, Bloodborne and Visceral Games’ Battlefield Hardline – which held the title until Wild Hunt‘s arrival – retail analyst Chart-Track brings word that sales for CD Projekt Red’s title were 53% up on Hardline, and an eye-watering 608% more than those accumulated by The Witcher III: Assassin of Kings back in 2012. An overwhelmingly positive debut, then.
Chart-Track detailed some additional information regarding The Witcher III: Wild Hunt‘s launch, revealing that PlayStation 4 accounted for 63% of the sales, with Xbox One and PC making up the remainder of the figures. As for Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion, there’s no data to report on the sophomore add-on as the company doesn’t factor in digital releases or indeed digital sales. Mind you, Bungie’s shared-world shooter did find its way back into the upper echelons of the chart.
