Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has issued a statement revealing that it hopes to release an “interim” patch for Batman: Arkham Knight on PC in order to rectify some of the ongoing technical issues.
While it won’t alleviate all of said problems in one fell swoop, the company noted that the update itself is designed to fix a vast swatch of glitches and bugs, which have led to the acclaimed threequel being pulled from store shelves worldwide. According to a leaked email, the PC port won’t be put back on sale until all of the kinks have been ironed out, and it’s unlikely that such a feat will be accomplished until some point in Autumn.
[zerg]In a post via its official blog, Warner addressed Arkham Knight‘s disastrous port head on, adding that the upcoming interim patch is being fast-tracked ahead of the release of the game’s full update.
“As an update, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady and our partners are targeting an interim patch update for existing players to be released in August. This update will address many of the issues we listed in our June 27 update,” Warner Bros. wrote. We will provide additional details as we finalise that interim patch over the coming weeks.
“We would like to thank you for your continued patience and invaluable feedback. We are continuing to monitor and listen for any additional issues and are driving towards a full update for everyone as quickly as we possibly can.”
Shortly after these technical hiccups were spotted, reports came out suggesting that Warner Bros. had known about the port’s sorry state for months, but opted to launch it alongside the console versions regardless. It was a transition carried out by Iron Galaxy Studios – as opposed to principal developer Rocksteady – though it’s now become clear the studio was hard-pressed for time during production.
Batman: Arkham Knight is available now across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Tell us, have you experienced any of the aforementioned issues within the PC version?
