To celebrate its successful PlayStation 4 launch, SEGA has released a new trailer for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. The video, which can be seen above, advertises the enhanced port’s snazzy new visuals. It also shows off some of the action from the strategy role-playing game, which is now played out at 60 frames-per-second.
The re-release of SEGA’s 2008 cult classic is available now for a budget price of $29.99 ($44.99 in Canada). Those that pick up the first-run of physical copies will also get a special Squad 7-themed steel-cover case for the game.
The Japanese publisher also announced that they’ve released four separate PS4 themes centered around Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. These themes allow players to have characters from the strategy game on their home consoles at all times, and are priced at $1.99 a piece. That’s not all the DLC, though, as they also released 12 avatars which cost $.49 each or can be purchased in a bundle for $3.99.
In our review of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered we praised the PlayStation 4 exclusive for its unique spin on an established genre:
“Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is a great way to play SEGA’s innovative SRPG. The difficulty can be overwhelming and there are enough small frustrations that surround the core gameplay, but there really isn’t anything else like it on PlayStation 4. Here’s to hoping that the sequels receive the same treatment sooner rather than later.”
