Ubisoft Plans To Punish Players Who Abuse The Division’s Falcon Lost Glitch

So, players of The Division, how have you been enjoying last week's massive content update that, among other things, added the game's first raid-style content: Falcon Lost? If you've emerged from the new content victorious with some tasty new loot and wondering how other players you've run into seem to have much, much more loot then you thought possible, it's probably got something to do with a particular glitch that's enabled players to continuously bypass the entirety of Falcon Lost so that they can accrue huge rewards for little to no effort whatsoever.

So, The Division players, how have you been enjoying last week’s massive content update that, among other things, added the game’s first raid-style content: Falcon Lost?

If you’ve emerged from the new content victorious with some tasty new loot and are wondering how other players you’ve run into seem to have much, much more loot then you thought possible, it’s probably got something to do with a particular glitch that’s enabled players to continuously bypass the entirety of Falcon Lost so that they can accrue huge rewards for little to no effort whatsoever.

The exploit, which involves players forcibly clipping through solid walls – and therefore bypassing the raid’s boss – enables those that choose to use it the ability to continuously rack-up an insane amount of rewards in a very short space of time. There’s no lockout either, so it can be done over and over again.

Ubisoft isn’t particularly pleased, however, and says that they’re considering some harsh punishments for those that have blatantly abused the exploit. In a post on the game’s official forums, a community manager for The Division said:

Obviously it is against our Code of Conduct. The team is looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited.

Exactly what type of punishment Ubisoft has planned for the guilty parties hasn’t been revealed, but we can’t imagine it’s going to be easy for them to discern who intentionally abused the glitch and who was coerced into using it. Some claim that they were forced into using the glitch because they faced being kicked from groups if they didn’t comply. Others say that the presence of the broken content is entirely Ubi’s fault, and that players shouldn’t be punished for the developer’s own failings.

Which side of the fence do you sit on? How do you think Ubisoft should handle the issue? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
