Ubisoft has revealed that they are working on a new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon title for the PC that will be free to play.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online is a PC third-person cover based shooter that is being developed by Ubisoft’s Singapore studio. Gamers will be able to choose from three different classes of “Ghost”, customize their weapons, deploy cutting edge military technology and share their gathered intel with their team.
Ubisoft will also be backing the game with a full set of services that include content updates, live support and regular events. To get the community involved, some content offered will be based on community feedback as well.
“Ghost Recon Online takes the best attributes of the Ghost Recon game franchise and brings them online, making the experience of being a Ghost accessible to millions of new players and fans,” said Hugues Ricour, senior producer at Ubisoft. “This game was designed from the start to be a free-to-play experience. Our development teams are dedicated to making Ghost Recon Online a truly unique, top-quality online title.”
As with most other free to play titles on the PC while the game itself is free for everyone to play, gamers will be able to purchase premium items. Gamers can expect to see the Ghost Recon Online closed beta begin this Summer. To sign up for the beta you can head over to the official site.
