Excitement is beginning to reach fever pitch ahead of the arrival of Universal’s Furious 7, and to capitalize on the anticipation, Turn 10 has today revealed Fast & Furious-themed DLC for Forza Horizon 2.
Entitled Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious — quite a mouthful, if you ask us — the expansion will debut as a standalone add-on on March 27 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, meaning you don’t need to own the base game in order to download. Furthermore, we understand that the tie-in DLC will be available free of charge up until April 10, at which point it will be priced at $10.
In a statement provided to the Associated Press, Bill Kispert, EVP of digital licensing at Universal, touched upon the partnership and how the two petrol head IPs are a match made in heaven.
“We’ve been talking with the folks at Turn 10 for a number of years and have always wanted to work together. It was a matter of schedules, capacity and a film coming together at the right time. It finally has, and we’re excited to collaborate with Turn 10.”
As you can see in the above trailer, the muscle car driven by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, plays a prominent part in the short and snappy sizzle reel. In addition to this, a number of supercars that are set to play a starring role in Furious 7 will also feature in the recently-revealed DLC, including the 1998 Toyota Supra, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, 2012 Nissan GT-R, 1970 Plymouth Cuda, 2013 Jeep Wrangler, 2014 Maserati Ghibli S and 2015 Dodge Charger.
But there’s more to Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious than slick supercars. Assuming the role of a driver in France, your mission is to help Tej Parker, portrayed by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, source various vehicles in the country.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will launch for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on March 27. In the meantime, tell us, are you looking forward to the release of Furious 7? Give us your thoughts below.
