This Year’s E3 Will Be Open To The Public, Tickets Go On Sale Next Week

A limited number of tickets for this year's E3 event will go on sale next week, marking the very first time in the exhibition's 22-year history that consumers have been invited to directly attend on such a large scale. Beginning next week, February 13, a sizeable number of 15,000 tickets will go on sale directly via the official E3 website, with the first 1,000 tickets due to cost $149. All tickets sold following that will put a considerably larger dent in your wallet, coming in at $249 instead, so if you're dead-set on attending you'll want to have your finger ready on the F5 button at 12 pm EST/9 am PST/5 pm GMT.

As a side note, public tickets will obviously allow access to the show floor only, so no, you won’t be able to attend Sony or Microsoft’s keynote conferences as and when they happen. But that’s fine, because you’ll have access to all of the most recently released and upcoming games directly on the show floor, although given the extra influx of people, expect it to be rather cramped as you navigate your way around the exhibition center.

On the other end of the spectrum, whether you’re unwilling to book a flight to the States or don’t fancy having to wade through hordes of people come June, we’ll be covering the event in its entirety as we do every year to ensure you don’t miss a beat. As for what you can expect to see this year, well, Microsoft will undoubtedly be spilling the beans on Project Scorpio, and we’ll be living in a world where the Nintendo Switch is already in the hands of gamers, so with any luck, the Big N will have news to share on upcoming titles via its various live presentations during the period.

E3 2017 kicks off June 13 and runs until June 15. Let us know in the comments below what you’re hoping to see announced during the three-day period. Me? I’m holding out hope for an official Destiny 2 reveal. Fingers crossed, eh?
