More gameplay for The Elder Scrolls Online‘s new Warden class has recently been released, providing a short summary of the various nature-based abilities it has at its disposal. First revealed earlier this year as part of the MMO’s upcoming Morrowind expansion, Wardens will be the first brand new class archetype added to ESO since its initial launch, so Tamriel regulars are likely to be chomping at the bit for the new role to arrive. Fortunately, everything shown off above suggests existing classes will be contending with the primal force of nature itself come June.
Following the existing formula, Wardens will have their skill trees split into three separate lines, each of which deals with a different aspect of mother nature. The first, Animal Companions, does exactly what it says on the tin by allowing you to summon various members of the animal kingdom, including bears, Fetcherfly swarms and even a Betty Netch – essentially a colossal jellyfish that’s taken to living on land.
The second line is Green Balance, a tree that specializes in doling out healing and protective buffs to both yourself and allies, an excellent companion to tank classes and surely a potent asset to have in any end-game dungeon or PvP. Rounding out the trio is Winter’s Embrace, an icy, defensive-based skillset that allows Wardens to manipulate the cold to conjure various kinds of barriers and shields. If you need a health top up, the Arctic Wind skill will do the trick, although don’t expect its rejuvenating qualities to be as potent as those present in the Green Balance skill line.
Along with the above, all three skill lines will have their own ultimate and passive abilities, the details for which you can find via the official website.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is out June 6 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and includes a brand new story spanning several new areas, including reimagined versions of those first seen in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
