Who’s up for some discounted PC gaming? If you’re one of the millions of people eagerly awaiting the next Steam Summer Sale, you’ve probably already read the articles on Huffington Post and Eurogamer that state that this year’s big sale event is set to commence today and will end on June 30th.
While Valve themselves have yet to officially confirm the date, there have been no words put forward by the development team that have disputed the claims. There is even a counter over on Steam Database, which is counting down the final moments to when the event is set to begin.
For those who don’t know, the Steam Summer Sale is an annual event where many popular and indie games become available at discounted prices for a short period of time. There are daily deals which last for one day, as well as “flash” sales which go on for eight hours. Offers change on a regular basis, so PC gamers are encouraged to keep an eagle eye on the Steam client and website to make sure they take advantage of the best deals.
The event usually culminates in a last day mega discount sale where all the previous games that have been available at a reduced price go on one last offer for the final 24-hours, prompting gamers to seize their last chance to get the games they want.
We don’t know about the rest of you, but all of us here in the WGTC bunker are pretty excited for the sale to begin. For any gamer with even a little disposable income, this is like an early Christmas present. Plus, with so many great titles having been released lately, we’re pretty sure this year’s Steam sale is going to be a mega one.
