Special Edition Pokemon 2DS Bundles Announced For Europe

But what about those of us in North America, you say? Well don't worry, Nintendo haven't left you out, but they've got something a little different planned for non-European Pokefans. Instead of the special 2DS bundles, the US gets a special New Nintendo 3DS bundle that comes with exclusive cover plates featuring either Charizard or Blastoise, and come pre-loaded with both Pokemon Red & Blue Versions. Three new 2DS bundles celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original Pokemon games are coming to Europe next month, and they look pretty snazzy. Arriving in stores on February 27, the red, blue and yellow colored consoles will each come pre-loaded with their respective color version of the original Game Boy games, a sheet of 15 stickers and a code to download a special theme to plaster on your home screen.

Nintendo haven’t announced prices for either bundles just yet, but you can probably expect them to be around the same price as standard versions of the handheld, just perhaps a little more expensive.

If you weren’t old enough to remember how massive the Pokemon craze became back in the 90s, now’s your chance to see what all of the fuss was about – February 27 will mark the first time the original games have ever been re-released since they first came out. For those of you who remember spending your School breaks trading Pokemon cards on the playground, it’s time to relive your childhoods.

See you in Kanto, trainers!
