Sleeping Dogs and Red Barrel’s nerve-shredding horror hit Outlast are among the Xbox Games With Gold lineup for December 2016, Microsoft has confirmed.
Together, they’ll headline the Xbox One offerings, and will be available from December 1 and December 16, respectively. On the one hand, Sleeping Dogs will be available to download free of charge for the entirety of December, while Outlast‘s window spans from December 16 to January 15. Switching gears to Xbox 360, Outland will debut alongside Sleeping Dogs on December 1, before it’s replaced by Criterion’s beloved racer Burnout Paradise on December 16.
Comprised of titles from both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 games library, remember that all four games will be playable on Microsoft’s current-gen system thanks to the hardware’s backwards compatibility feature.
All in all, it’s a strong month for Microsoft’s digital program; particularly on Xbox One, where players will be able to experience the crime-ridden streets of Hong Kong in Sleeping Dogs, before dipping their toe rather tentatively into Outlast, a truly horrifying indie title that has even spawned a full-blown sequel. Look for that one to arrive mid-way through 2017.
Come December 1, Sleeping Dogs and Outland will become available for Xbox Live Gold members across Xbox One and Xbox 360, before they’re joined by Outlast and the really rather brilliant open world racer Burnout Paradise on December 16. Don’t forget that there’s still time to grab last month’s Games With Gold offerings, which include Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and the Special Edition of Monkey Island.
