On the eve of release, Gearbox has deployed the blistering, balls-to-the-wall launch trailer for Battleborn, the upcoming hero shooter that’s due to hit PS4, Xbox One and PC on Tuesday, May 3.
Offering up a taste of the action to budding fans, Gearbox’s MOBA-esque shooter splits players into two teams for a bout of online warfare. Those who pick up Battleborn on consoles can look forward to split-screen support, while it’s understood the game will launch with a roster of 25 playable heroes. Expect a handful of new heroes to be rolled out in the months after launch, too, after Gearbox recently outlined its extensive DLC plans for the imminent new IP.
[zergpaid]Per Gearbox: “In both the episodic story mode or competitive multiplayer modes, players can go in solo or team up in 5-player co-op (and 2-player splitscreen co-op) to save the last star and a universe on the brink of extinction.”
Those who participated in Battleborn‘s open beta test earlier this month are entitled to a trio of golden character skins for SIC, Benedict, and Shayne & Aurox, which will be available from day-one.
Shooters gotta shoot and players gotta play: Battleborn deploys from orbit across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 3.
