Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil fame has finally announced the first title to be released by his new development studio, Tango Gameworks, after being acquired by ZeniMax Media.
Since parting ways with Capcom, Mikami has headed up a small number of studios to release cult classics like God Hand, Okami, and Infinite Space. This will mark the first title he has released since leaving Platinum Games to form Tango Gameworks.
While details are incredibly slim as to what Project Zwei is, or even what platforms it will be releasing on, Shinji Mikami himself is pretty confident that Zwei will be a true survival horror title.
“A true ‘survival horror’ game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear,” says Shinji Mikami, president and creative director for Tango Gameworks. “I’ve found my focus and once again I’m striving for pure survival horror. I am being very hands-on in the development of this game to ensure that the quality is there. Rest assured.”
