After potentially revealing the existence of Halo 2: Anniversary, NeoGaf rumour spreader “ntkrnl” has also claimed that Microsoft is gearing up to release a series of new Xbox One consoles later this year.
Most likely first among them to be released would be the Titanfall Xbox One bundle, which would probably street on March 11. Even though we have the leaked image posted above, this rumour does feel a little dubious. Specifically, the fact that the console posted on the left doesn’t match the console on the box on the right is throwing me off. Of course, we will have to wait until we get closer to Titanfall‘s release date before anything gets confirmed.
Later in the year, according to this rumor, would see the release of the white, 1TB and disc-less versions of the Xbox One. According to “ntkrnl,” the white Xbox One will be launched alongside Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac Games’ open-world shooter, and as he says “a fancy ass controller” come October.
November would see the release of a 1TB sized version of the Xbox One as a “Limited Edition” console. This would be double the size of the current memory included with the console and would most likely help Microsoft continue to move toward an all digital future. Finally, Microsoft may be set to release a $399 version of the Xbox One, except it would not include an optical disc drive. No other information on this edition was revealed, so one has to speculate how much internal memory would be included with the console.
