News regarding developer Danger Close working on a new Medal of Honor game isn’t much of a surprise, especially with all of the rumors circulating around the project. However, we still haven’t heard anything concrete regarding the assumed to be in-development project. Though, if Jim Reilly from Game Informer is to be believed, the game will be out in October under the title of, Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The video game journalist just posted those juicy details on his Twitter account, mentioning that the information came from a soon-to-be-released issue of OXM.
It was also mentioned that the military first-person shooter will use the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which was developed by DICE and made famous by Battlefield 3. That makes a ton of sense, considering that the two companies collaborated on the previous Medal of Honor release. Though, Reilly seems to think that Danger Close will be responsible for the multiplayer portion of the game this time around, which I hope is true. DICE has impressed me in the past, but I was not a fan of their multiplayer mode in the 2010 title. The single player campaign, on the other hand, was pretty solid despite being short.
We’ll keep you updated when new developments surface.
