UPDATE: These images have been removed at the request of the artist. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Several fiery images have leaked online purportedly showing what appears to be concept art for Bungie’s unannounced Destiny 2. According to Game Informer, the pictures were spotted on by an eagle-eyed Reddit user, but the page has since been removed.
Thankfully, those who were quick enough to view the original page had the foresight to save the images elsewhere, so you can see all of the leaks in the above gallery. Despite looking pretty authentic, there’s been no confirmation by the artist or Bungie in regards to whether they’re authentic Destiny 2 assets, but considering the artist has previously worked on Destiny‘s The Taken King expansion, there’s a good chance they are.
Several images are included in the leak, all of which carry a fire and smoke motif and reveal some interesting details. Besides an image appearing to show the spherical Traveler floating above a burning version of the First City, there’s one each for the Titan, Warlock and Hunter classes brandishing a shield, wings and a staff respectively. Could these be hinting at new subclasses?
Rounding out the rest of the gallery are a few images showing a standalone “2” with varying degrees of fire damage.
It’s all rather interesting, but the leak should be taken with a pinch of salt. Even if these screens are legitimate, they’re purely conceptual, and therefore subject to change.
Bungie has yet to officially announce Destiny 2, but it’s largely assumed to be released in 2017. In the meantime, this year’s Rise of Iron add-on for the original is headed to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next month.
