Perhaps one of the most celebrated features within the core campaign of Grand Theft Auto V is the heist mission. In combining the skills (or lack thereof) of Trevor, Michael and Franklin, Rockstar delivered some truly memorable moments; however, for Grand Theft Auto Online, the studio has confirmed that the hotly-anticipated component has been hit with a delay.
In a post over Rockstar Newswire, the company outlined the reasoning behind the delay, all the while assuring fans that GTA Online heists are still very much inbound.
“We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can. Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support.”
Initially, Rockstar was set to introduce the co-operative feature into the bombastic world of Grand Theft Auto Online by spring of this year. Nevertheless, the company promised that a variety of additional content will weave its way into the game in the coming months — including content packs, further in-game enhancements and more.
To sate the appetite of eager fans, Rockstar also recently unveiled its latest and rather ironic content pack for the GTA Online, I’m Not A Hipster. The patch itself added a litany of new side missions that poked fun at the contemporary stereotype, not to mention the “Before It Was Cool” and “Caffeine Rush” jobs.
Unfortunately, Rockstar had nothing to announce in terms of a specific release date for heists in Grand Theft Auto Online. Mind you, the addition of the co-operative and, no doubt, ridiculous robberies could dovetail with the launch of Grand Theft Auto V across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, which is due to debut on current-gen hardware this autumn.
