Capcom is hard at work on two new Resident Evil games. The first is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which is slated for a Q4 release in 2011 for the PC, XBOX 360 and PS3. The second is Resident Evil: Revelations, which doesn’t have a release date announced but is set to release on the Nintendo 3DS. And of course, this week being E3, we get new footage from both titles.
While the only Resident Evil game I’ve played is Resident Evil 5, I did enjoy it a lot. I’m not too concerned with the 3DS title since I don’t own one but I’m definitely eager to get my hands on another 360 version of the popular series. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will take place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and is set in Raccoon City. The third person shooter will feature four playable characters (Vector, Spectre, Beltway, and Bertha), all of whom have their own unique abilities. Along with single player, we’re also getting four player co-op.
As for Resident Evil: Revelations, the 3DS title will be set between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and will depict the events shortly after the establishment of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). Zombies, limited ammo and exploration will make the game a true member of the survival horror genre and a playable demo will be released with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
